Group Therapy
“People need people - for initial and continued survival, for socialization, for the pursuit of satisfaction.”
― Irvin D. Yalom
Group therapy offers a powerful opportunity to better understand yourself through connection with others in real time. You might find yourself repeating the same roles or feeling the same emotions in relationships. Maybe you feel disconnected, misunderstood, or overly responsible for others. In group, these experiences can be explored safely and honestly.
Therapy groups focus on interactions and help individuals gain feedback to identify and change problematic relational styles. Group is also a wonderful way to connect with others, feel less alone, and practice interpersonal skills that translate to the outside world.
Group can be a stand alone treatment or in addition to individual therapy, and research shows that group therapy is just as effective as individual therapy.
If you’re longing for deeper connection, struggling in relationships, or curious about how others experience you, group therapy is a great next step. You don’t have to do it alone.
Groups Offered
Connecting and Relating Group
Wednesdays 7:00-8:30pm
*Virtual*
I co-facilitate a long-term, intergenerational process group with my colleague, Dr. Jim Bleiberg.
Our group consists of insightful, bright, and thoughtful individuals who are very interested in deepening their understanding of themselves. This group is a great way to practice and enhance communication skills, increase your understanding of yourself and others, and gain support from peers.
Our group is limited to ten members and there are currently a couple of openings.
While this group is mainly virtual, it meets in person two times per year in the eastern Philadelphia Main Line area.
